Welcome Message

Welcome from the President of the Canadian Cycling Association

 Dear Fellow Cyclists and Supporters,

On behalf of the Canadian Cycling Association, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to beautiful Kamloops, BC, home of the 2005 Tim Hortons Road National Championships.

The Road National's are one of the premier events in the Canadian cycling scene and they carry a lot of weight in selection for the World Championships team.  Having witnessed last year’s events, I’m sure they will prove to be very exciting again given the demanding terrain

I would like to take this opportunity to extend congratulations and special thanks to the Kamloops Organizing Committee, headed by Race Director Henry Pejril, to the many volunteers who help make the races happen, and to the city of Kamloops for their support.

Good luck to everyone in your races!

Sincerely,

Bill Kinash - President, Canadian Cycling Association

Welcome from the Mayor

On behalf of my colleagues on Council and the citizens of Kamloops, I am very pleased to have this opportunity to welcome participants and guests to our city  for the 2005 Tim Hortons Road National Championships, July 7 to 10th.

This first class event is organized by a dedicated group of volunteers who will play host to cyclists from all across  Canada  coming to compete against the best in the nation. This dedication,  determination and perseverance is typical of the teamwork involved in the organization of many activities that take place in the Tournament Capital of Canada.

As guests in our community, we invite you to check out the many attractions available throughout Kamloops for people of all ages – the specialty shops on both our north and south shores, our restaurants, sidewalk cafes and coffee shops and our theatres and nightclubs.

We hope that while you’re with us, you’ll experience the brand of hospitality we’re known for and take such pride in. I am confident that the memories of this outstanding competition, the spectacular scenery and ambience of Kamloops will last a lifetime.

We look forward to your return.

 Most sincerely,

 Mel G. Rothenburger, Mayor
